The most important reason of finding your Element is personal. Finding your Element is vital to understanding who you are and what you’re capable of being and doing with your life. The second reason is social. Many people lack purpose in their lives. The evidence of this is everywhere: in the sheer numbers of people who are not interested in the work they do; in the growing numbers of students who feel alienated by the education system; and in the rising use everywhere of antidepressants and painkillers. The third reason is economic. These days it’s probable that you’ll have various jobs and even occupations during your working life. Where you start out isn’t likely to be where you’ll end up. Knowing what your Element is will give you a much better sense of direction than simply bouncing from one job to the next. Whatever your age, it’s the best way to find work that really fulfills you, spiritually and financially.

Book Reviews

"A sequel to his original book The Element, educationist Sir Ken Robinson continues his journey on guiding others in finding their callings in life in his latest book Finding your Element." Word Press

"Finding Your Element, introduced as the “companion” of The Element, is the practical guide complementing the previous book. Ken Robinson provides advices, techniques and exercises. He illustrates them by loads of stories and testimonials, to direct us in our quest for our element and help us find the right path." Alvokigho

"In Finding Your Element, Sir Ken has written a book that is as relevant and imperative for the parents of a 12-year-old as it is for the C.E.O. of a behemoth corporation. And with luck it will help you to find yours." Vanity Fair

"Another self-help book about attaining your true potential, from Robinson and co-author Aronica." KIRKUS

"Finding Your Element is presented in the familiar model of what one encounters in the more effective self-help literature: easy reading, entertaining stories, not too much cognitive heavy lifting, and positive encouragement with the occasional tough love admonition." Nyjournalofbooks

"The book helps readers explore such things as how to find one’s own unique (and often dormant) talents, the type of work that provide happiness and joy, the importance of attitude, setting goals, finding a ‘tribe’ (supporting group), and making sure that you’re really in the right element. One of the main premises of the book is that we can always change, and that we not only deserve to enjoy our lives and live creatively and powerfully, it’s our responsibility to try to do so."
